
Wabash Valley – Wabash Valley voters have set the stage for November following yesterday’s primary elections. Incumbent Republican State Senator Greg Goode secured his spot on the fall ballot against Democrat Kacey Blundell, while Republican State Representative Bob Heaton advanced to face Democratic challenger James Pittsford III. In the race for Vigo County Sheriff, Democrat Derek Fell and Republican Steve Ellis each won their primaries to trigger a November showdown. Vigo County Commissioner Mark Clinkenbeard won his Republican primary and will face Democrat Lynn Morales in the general election. County Council races are also heating up, with Kimberly Curley set to challenge incumbent Republican David Thompson for the District 1 seat, and incumbent Vicki Weger facing off against Republican Tim Fears in District 3. In District 4, Democrat Mark Minnick will battle Republican Dustin Havens to fill the seat currently held by Randy Gentry. Meanwhile, Clay County Prosecuting Attorney Emily Clarke fended off a primary challenge to maintain her seat. At the federal level, Democrat Mary Allen won a crowded primary for Indiana’s 8th Congressional District, officially beginning her campaign against Republican incumbent Mark Messmer.
