
Terre Haute, In. – The 2026 Indiana primary is officially underway throughout the State. Wabash Valley, polling sites opened at 6:00 a.m. and will remain open until 6:00 p.m. local time. Registered Vigo County voters are urged to cast their ballots at any of the county’s designated vote centers, such as the Haute City Center, the Vigo County Public Library, or the ISU Hulman Center. The spotlight today is on several high-stakes contested races, most notably in State Senate District 38, where incumbent Republican Greg Goode is facing a challenge from Brenda Wilson in a primary that has drawn significant national attention and Trump-backed endorsements. Local ballots also feature competitive races for the Vigo County Council and the first election for current County Sheriff Derek Fell.
