Terre Haute, Indiana — Residents gathered on Monday, to pay tribute to America’s fallen service members. Morning Memorial Day ceremonies began at Woodlawn Cemetery before moving to Highland Lawn Cemetery for the city’s official remembrance service. Mayor Brandon Sakbun addressed the large crowds, praising the strong turnout of young families honoring the ultimate sacrifices made for national freedom. Meanwhile, local first responders found an intense way to show respect. The Terre Haute Fire Department hosted its second annual Memorial Day “Murph” workout at Station 8.
