Terre Haute, In. – Rose-Hulman’s athletics department confirmed on Thursday that a pair of softball players have been suspended indefinitely from the team.

The college says the two players violated the student code of conduct when they allegedly made “offensive and derogatory comments” towards players on April 3rd during a game against Oberlin College.

In a statement, Oberlin athletics officials said despite an apology from Rose-Hulman, they will not be scheduling the Fightin’ Engineers for any future non-conference games.

Rose-Hulman’s statement about the players went on to say that “This type of hurtful behavior is unacceptable and does not represent the institute’s values or commitment to treat others with respect, inclusiveness, and sensitivity.”
