Terre Haute Police And US Marshals Arrest Wanted Man

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – The Terre Haute Police Department along with the US Marshals service attempted to arrest a man on several warrants Friday (3/6/20).

Officers went to the 1300 block of N. 12th St. at around 10:00 a.m. this morning with warrants for 53 year old Richard Sandlin of Terre Haute.

Sandlin was wanted for resisting law enforcement, escape, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, battery and criminal recklessness.

Police say that Sandlin had made statements to family members that he was not coming out.

Uniformed officers and members of the SRT Team surrounded the home.

Sandlin ultimately gave up and was taken into custody without incident.

Jail records indicate that Sandlin will appear in court Monday (3/9/20).

He has been booked into the Vigo County jail on six previous occasions since 2016.
