Brandon Halleck, Chief Operating Officer of Chances and Services for Youth, discusses the changes that have been made to their fundraising event, Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars.
In 2007, Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars featured 9 dancers who helped raise $33,000. Since that time, the event has grown with nearly 1,100 people in attendance. However, this year is going to look a little different, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chances And Services for Youth is no longer hosting an in-person event for the community but instead is broadcasting Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars live on tv.
The 2020 Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars live broadcast will take place on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Hulman Center located on the campus of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. The evening features a “competition” using local STARS, and a VIRTUAL/online silent auction. We are working hard to provide the best experience we can this year as we continue to provide excellent programming to improve the lives of the Wabash Valley’s children.
This year's silent auction is completely virtual and features items like a hot tub, a two-night stay in Nashville, TN with a private flight included, a trip to Gatlinburg, TN, a signed Indiana Pacers Jersey by Myles Turner, and a tropical vacation!
You may register and bid starting at noon Eastern on Monday, November 16th. Our silent auction closes at 7:50 pm Eastern on Friday, November 20th.
