Sullivan County, In. – Emergency crews in Sullivan County responded to a fire at a solar farm construction site on Wednesday afternoon. The solar farm is just off County Roads 1100 North and 100 West, west of Farmersburg. Firefighters from the Thunderbird Fire Protection Territory and Fairbanks Volunteer Fire Department were forced to wait for electricity to be shut off before they could safely battle the flames. Invenergy, the site manager, confirmed the fire was contained to a single inverter and reported no injuries. While the exact cause remains under investigation, local fire officials noted they are seeking additional specialized training from the solar company to better handle such high-voltage emergencies in the future.
