Terre Haute, In. – A major safety hazard was neutralized Wednesday after a 70-foot billboard broke loose from its mounts and began swaying precariously in high winds. The unstable structure was located near 1st Street south of Margaret Avenue. Mayor Brandon Sakbun declared a temporary no-fly zone and closed the street to all but hotel traffic on Tuesday. The Terre Haute Fire Department and city engineers initially deemed the site too dangerous for immediate repairs due to the ongoing wind conditions. However, as of Wednesday morning, MISCO crane operators were able to safely bring down. !st and Margaret Streets were then reopened to traffic.
