Terre Haute, In. – A Vigo County judge has sentenced Philip Michael Atterson to 55 years in prison for the 2020 murder of Sarah Henderson. A jury convicted the 34-year-old last month after hearing how he killed Henderson with a hatchet inside a Terre Haute storage unit. During the Wednesday hearing, the judge ordered the full 55-year term to be executed in prison. Prosecutor Terry Modesitt stated he hopes the sentence provides justice for Henderson’s children and family.
