Terre Haute, In. – Vigo County Commissioners and the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce held their 2026 Annual County Update Wednesday morning at Indiana State University. Commissioners Mark Clinkenbeard , Mike Morris , and Chris Switzer highlighted the county’s strong fiscal health, reporting significant cash reserves and a $4 million investment in local childcare. Switzer described the state of the county as “great,” noting that upcoming budget shifts in 2027 will allow for further substantial investments in public parks, facilities, and schools. Leaders emphasized that the region is “firing on all cylinders” due to continued collaboration between the county, the city, and local school corporation.
