Indiana State Police Participated In Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative

Statewide – Recently the Indiana State Police (ISP) Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division completed its annual Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative, a week-long campaign was conducted in partnership with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance This initiative focused on educating commercial motor vehicle drivers—the “eyes and ears of America”—on how to recognize and report signs of labor and sex trafficking encountered at rest areas, truck stops, and loading docks. ISP units distributed 1,007 packets of educational materials from Truckers Against Trafficking during the inspection of 718 commercial vehicles as well at several outreach events. Over 40% of trafficking cases reported by truck drivers involve minor victims.
