TERRE HAUTE – The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office is getting reports of a scam.

Residents are receiving calls and the caller says police have a warrant for their arrest. The caller then says they should go to the police station or jail and pay money.

“This is absolutely not true, our office would never call anyone and tell them they have a warrant or that they need to come and pay a fine for a warran,” writes Chief Deputy Steve Meng. “If you receive one of these calls, please ignore it.”
