Terre Haute, In. – Around 50 Duke Energy employees swapped utility work for volunteerism on Monday, descending on the Terre Haute Humane Society for the company’s annual “Action Day.” The crew provided a massive facility makeover, tackling everything from painting the lobby and power-washing the exterior to trimming trees and clearing out gutters. Shelter officials noted that the volunteer labor saved the organization thousands of dollars in maintenance costs, ensuring the facility is refreshed and safe for the animals and the community.
