Wanted Man Arrested In Parke County Hiding In Attic

Parke County, In. – A man wanted for a parole violation is in custody today following a brief standoff in Parke County Parke County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at a home on East U.S. Highway 36 Tuesday evening to serve a warrant for 32-year-old Devan Robert Mitchell. Mitchell was spotted running into the house and refused to cooperate when ordered to come out. Deputies eventually entered the residence and located him hiding in the attic. Mitchell was arrested without incident and is currently being held at the Parke County Jail. In addition to the parole violation warrant issued by the Indiana Department of Corrections, he also faces local charges of domestic battery and theft.
