Terre Haute, In. – The Vigo County Oversight Board met Thursday to evaluate the school corporation’s multi-million dollar consolidation plan. Financial experts from Baker Tilly and Superintendent Dr. Chris Himsel briefed the board on a proposed $222 million east-side high school. While the school corporation can cover a “sizable chunk” of costs, they are looking for county partnerships to avoid a new tax referendum. Board President Mark Elliott says the board will now begin a “deep dive” into the figures, with a formal recommendation on funding options expected by April.
