Statewide – To protect crews from rising work zone injuries, the Indiana Department of Transportation is launching “Project Greenlight.” The agency is distributing 375 wearable Guardian Angel safety lights to highway technicians and Hoosier Helpers statewide. These devices emit flashing green patterns that make workers 89 percent more visible to drivers at night or during heavy fog and snow. Officials with INDOT say the green hue is more easily recognized by the human eye at long distances than standard warning lights, providing a critical layer of safety in high-speed traffic zones.
