Brazil, In. Two women are in custody following a major methamphetamine bust in Brazil yesterday. Officials say that a months-long investigation culminated Tuesday when deputies stopped a vehicle in northwest Brazil for a traffic violation and K-9 Scooby alerted officers to illegal drugs, leading to the discovery of nearly three pounds of methamphetamine. The driver, twenty-four-year-old Katelynn Weaver, was arrested at the scene and faces charges of dealing and possession of methamphetamine, as well as neglect of a dependent because a juvenile was in the car at the time. The investigation then moved to a local housing complex where detectives seized an additional quarter-pound of methamphetamine and arrested forty-seven-year-old Tina L. Francis. Both women remain in the Clay County Jail on multiple felony charges.
