Terre Haute, In. – As of yesterday (February 9, 2026) the playgrounds at Collett and Spencer Parks in Terre Haute are closed to the public as the Parks and Recreation Department begins to remove the existing playground equipment to make way for new, with the project expected to be completed by sometime this summer, weather permitting. These upgrades are part of an initiative led by Mayor Brandon Sakbun to revitalize local community spaces using funds from the Terre Haute Casino Resort.
