Terre Haute, In. – Vigo County residents are urged to keep a close watch on local wildlife. Since Friday, February 6th, an “unusually high” number of dead crows have been discovered scattered across Terre Haute, primarily concentrated in the downtown area and the Gilbert Park neighborhood. Local officials have collected at least 450 carcasses thus far. While final lab results are pending, avian flu (Bird Flu) is the suspected cause. Authorities advise residents not to touch any dead birds and to report sightings to the Vigo County Health Department.
