Brazil, In. – An announcement from The Clay County YMCA says that the Forest Park Pool won’t open this season. the Clay County YMCA has managed the pool’s daily operations, staffing, and programming through a partnership with the city. However, the city is responsible for the facility’s maintenance and repairs. Due to rising costs for maintenance, repairs, and pool chemicals, the city council did not allocate the necessary funds to the pool for the 2026 season. As a result, the pool will remain closed for the summer. The Brazil Parks and Recreation Board is exploring alternative uses for the area, such as an expanded splash pad. The YMCA say they don’t have the fund for the maintenance and repairs.
