Terre Haute, In. – The petition for a special prosecutor has been granted in the case of public dispute between Vigo County Council members Randy Gentry and David Thompson. Gentry made a report with the State Police alleging Thompson threatened him at the council meeting on October 14, 2025. Both individuals approved a special prosecutor being called in based on their positions in the community and the fact that Vigo Co. Chief Deputy Prosecutor Rob Roberts witnessed the heated argument in which the two individuals had to be separated by Sheriff deputies.
