New Goshen, In. – Clean up began in the community of New Goshen Thursday after what the National Weather Service says was an EF-1 tornado hit the community Wednesday night. An EF-1 Tornado can generate wind speeds between 86 and 110 miles per hour.  The tornado had a path length of about 4 and a half miles, and a width of about 100 yards. It was first detected about 8:14 p.m. near the state line then it moved northeast through New Goshen and dissipated. Duke Energy crews worked all day Thursday putting in new poles, repairing downed power lines and restoring power.  The County Commissioners report that County Crews were clearing roads and providing dumpsters for residents to deposit debris in. They ask residents to place debris along the roadways so county crews can pick it up. Several residents are dealing with severe damage to their homes including roof and foundation damage. There were no injuries reported because of the storm.
