Catholic Charities Expands Mobile Food Bank

Terre Haute, In. – The Terre Haute Catholic Charities operated a mobile food bank which transports food daily throughout the valley with funding provided by a grant from city of Terre Haute’s American Rescue Plan Act funds. Catholic Charities distribute nutritious foods to food deserts — areas with inadequate access to nutritious food and predominantly made up of low-income families. he organization recently launched mobile pantries at Christway Church, Cross Lane Community Church and Eastside Christian Academy. The Foodbank transports canned goods, bread, produce and bakery items to mobile pantries in Clay, Greene, Knox, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties.
