PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind — 25 counts of animal cruelty has been founded against the owners of a dog breeding facility.

Inside were more than 30 German Shepherds and one Rotteiler. All were underfed, covered in feces and urine, and had no access to food and water.

The dog breeding facility was called Greystone Guardians, and Putnam County Animal Control were called there on September 8th when one of the breeders needed help getting food for dogs on their property. Her name was Julia Ann Gray and she owned the property with her brother, James Gray.

The officer found a German Shepherd that was lying in a field. It had to be put down from its injuries. It was then that the officer observed other filth-covered dogs in cages. One of the dogs was dead and beginning to decompose.

Deputies described the conditions smelling strongly of feces and urine. Of the 36 dogs found on the property, 33 were seized. However, one belonged to Gray and the other two were either dead or dying.

The Grays were charged with 25 counts of animal cruelty.
