TERRE HAUTE, Ind – The Terre Haute Police Department will be off of the “Live PD” TV show, at least for a while.
Sunday night Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson posted on the Departments Social Media Account that the show would be taking a break from Terre Haute as part of its regular rotation of departments featured on the show.
As you may have heard, tonight is the last night THPD will be on Live Pd for a while. This is a part of the department rotation. Our contract is valid until the end of this year and we look forward to working with A&E/Live PD later this year.

He said that the contract between the show and department remains valid for the rest of 2020 and that they look forward to working with the show later this year.
There have been some in the community that questioned if it was good to appear on the show and said that it showed some things that should not be featured.
The Department has said that it gave citizens and opportunity to see their officers in action, what they have to deal with as a part of their job and how they do it. The Department also said that they hoped it could be used as a recruiting tool.
Recently the Terre Haute Branch of the NAACP also voiced their concern and said that the city should cancel their contract with the show.
Others in the community voiced their support for the officers and the show saying that it let them see something the ordinarily would not have the privilege to witness.
