Semi Fails To Slow, Slams Into Other Vehicles On I-65

JASPER COUNTY, Ind   Tuesday evening around 11:00 p.m. a multi-vehicle crash closed all lanes of I-65 at the 228 mile-marker for several hours.

Indiana State Police say that north bound traffic on I-65 had come to a stop for a lane closure when the driver of a UPS tractor and double trailer failed to see the slow/stopped traffic ahead and slammed into three vehicles.

The driver of one of the vehicles saw the impending collision and managed to almost get out of the way.

A total of six vehicles were involved.

The UPS truck rolled into the median.

The driver of the UPS truck, was 56 year old Richard Turner, of Cincinnati, OH

All drivers were treated at local hospitals.
