TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — An accident Thursday afternoon on U.S. 41 near Love’s Truck Stop and Harlan Drive.

Police say that a truck carrying hazardous materials stopped at the railroad tracks on US 41. A semi-truck slowed down behind the hazmat truck, which caused another truck to move into the left lane. When the truck moved into the left lane, a passenger vehicle attempted to pass them in the right lane.

When the driver realized the road was blocked, he sideswipped the truck and bounced off.

No injuries were reported but US 41 was closed for a short time for accident cleanup.
