Terre Haute, In. – A packed house in Terre Haute last night as the Vigo County Council spent hours confronting the future of local schools. Officials reviewed the controversial proposal to merge Terre Haute North and South into one new east-side high school. While county commissioners previously backed the overhaul, council members pushed hard on long-term funding and financial accountability.  Because the item was not formally up for action, no vote occurred—pushing any decision to October at the earliest
