SHELBURN — Josiah Terry is alive thanks to the heroic efforts of a passing driver.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said Terry’s car hit a tree early Tuesday at the intersection of US 41 and Johnson Street. The car was on fire when it gained the attention of Darryn Bucklers, who stopped and pulled Terry out of the burning car.

Terry was sent to an area hospital for treatment
